Pilgrimage to Ladyewell

Last Saturday, members of the Central Council attended the annual pilgrimage to the Marian Shrine at Ladyewell just outside Preston, Lancashire.

The pilgrimage was led by the Rt Rev Paul Swarbrick, Bishop of Lancaster and began with Mass at the nearby church of St Mary, followed by a Eucharistic procession down the country lanes to the Shrine itself for a time of prayer and benediction. After this, refreshments and a BBQ was provided by the local Catholic Scout group.

Dozens of Altar Servers assisted in the proceedings and our own Deacon Paul Briers was the deacon at the Mass and led the rosary during the procession.
